This was my very first (and least successful attempt) at 3D scanning. I was lucky enough to have access to the 3D scanners at the Autodesk Pier 9 labs in San Francisco thanks to Prof. Michael Bogan at CCA. Although I was able to use state-of-the-art technology at the time, I had a very difficult time capturing the fine details on my orchid plant and leaf sample. I later learnt that intersecting leaves and fine detail on thin objects are some of the most difficult photogrammetry subjects, however, was very fascinated by the stylized and fragmented result.
